This is just one of the many manifestations of contemporary man. No, you cannot touch or see the thing itself, only the outward manifestations of the quest are receivable by the witness.
All tracks feature Warwick Gilbert on guitar and Mark Sisto on vocals.Tracks 5, 6 and 7 were made sometime around 1993. Recorded and mixed in one session with lots of beer and features a rare appearance on keyboards by Chris Masuak. Brad Ferguson plays bass and Gerard Presland the drums.
Tracks 1 to 4 were recorded in 1994 to 1995 and feature Andy Newman on bass, Paul Larsen on drums, Pip Hoyle on keyboards and Madeleine Chase as guest vocalist. MacDonald Hamilton did the engineering and Andy Newman mixed track 4.
In spite of being warned vehemently that you don't mix Blues with Science Fiction and you don't mix a Brian Wilson/John Philips/Byrdsy west coast (or is it Lennon - Beatles inspired?) kind of pop with a Liquid Edgar Allen Poe, we did it anyway and got show the door.
Yeah, real bold, like Eva Cassidy, mixing genres. Not too smart if you want to get somewhere, or want to avoid suddenly dropping dead from cancer. THEY WHACKED HER, I KNOW IT. Well I say this work is seamless and good and I'm proud f it.
Well the time has come.
This is a special purpose recording. Each piece is suited for different occasions. I suggest you don't over do it. Use this stuff like that hot sauce you keep out of the reach of kids.
Now in the MP3 age you may want to load it on your apparatus and pick tracks according to your needs. But you will be missing out on something if you don't have the cover to look at.
Before you listen to this any old way, to get the maximum enjoyment out of these new sounds, you may want to consider these helpful hints.
Track 4: NIGHT SENDER
One advantage with this underground item, there is no video clip - so as not to encroach on YOUR creative interaction with this work.So here we go! Stare intently at the cover; take in the image of these figures, make a copy in your brain. Good, keep that there. Turn out the lights, put the headphones on and listen to Night Sender. You will notice these things will start to move... just go with it... yes..very good.
Track 1: EYES FREEZE TIME
Remember that 50's class Seven Year Itch? Where the character played by Tom Ewell is warming up Marilyn Monroe with some music? His choice Rachmaninov. Hey, try this one on her...yeah, epic romantic sententiousness, like totally.Track 3: I'D SINK TOO
One can imagine this being played in cafes where "intellectuals" may hang, drink coffee, who don't want to be seen trying, but are trying like heck to be seen reading something deep and meaningful. So for home use if you ware in need of making an impression, let this one percolate in the background as you draw on a pipe and you strike your best Karl Jung pose.Warning and hopefully and effective disclaimer: This track is recommended to be strictly avoided by those seriously depressed.
Track 2: LOOK AND TURN
This has "aw shucks" slapped all over it with an ice cream scoop. If you want to give an impression of being a safe and sensitive guy, put this one on. Hell I'd sell it to minors if...
However the seriously depressed can easily get accelerated on this one as well.
Track 5, 6: ATOMS ACTION, ONCE IT'S UNDONE
Hangin' with the guys havin' a few cold ones, it's perfect indoors on a rainy day or sunny barbecue or crusin' down the road... relax, let'm both run together. It really suits an get together.Track 7: SHIPS IN
I'd be a bit careful with this one, girls will think you are weird if they see you grooving too deeply to this one. Try it on you own first and see how you go. However, if you are around "real musician types", don't hesitate to whip this one on 'em right quick. Then act aloof, if not superior, with a "don't bother me I am Very deep in it" look on your face.Well...welcome to the REAL underground music folks. This is it...as obscure as possible. And I assure you none of the money you spent on this will be wasted on tax, either funding war or political correctness or police electronic eavesdropping. Listen to it with a clean conscience.
